The Senior Product Development Specialist is responsible for driving the development, innovation and renovation of ice cream products/processes/systems from inception through all stages of development under the I2L principles, method/tools and ways of working. He/She will contribute to concept generation and define project overall Key Success Criteria as subject matter expert. In addition, he/she will ensure effective handling of knowledge gained during the different stages of a project.

 

A day in the life of a Senior Product Development Specialist…

 

  • Proactively propose and drive new ideas/projects/methods to R&D Center, Strategic Business Units and markets aligned with consumer trends
  • Build and document knowledge about latest methods, trends and developments in relevant field of activity (R&D report, notes, patents, etc)
  • Explore breakthrough process or technology that are patentable
  • Actively promote Idea to Launch (I2L) Mindset and ways of working (including system)
  • Give operational assistance in industrialization start-ups and product improvements following the technical assistance way of working
  • Integrate Scientific, Technology, Quality and Safety and Environment knowledge into business
  • Recommend, plan and deliver technical and scientific support for Ice Cream projects
  • Lead and manage knowledge building and business related project activities with a proactive participation
  • Present results/methods in written and oral form to interested parties or stakeholders
  • Ensure Idea to Launch (I2L) project execution using Idea to Launch (I2L) ways of working and tools
  • Suggest, create and improve ice cream prototypes
  • Coordinate with local contracted ice cream manufacturers and/or markets to execute scale up of prototypes
  • Provide accurate and on-time support to markets with effective (quality, cost and on-time) and sustainable solutions
  • Actively participate in expert network to promote cross-fertilization between different sites
  • Provide competency development and coaching to global Application (AG) Ice cream Team

 

What will make you successful

 

  • BS in Dairy, Food Science or Food Engineering required
  • MS in Dairy, Food Science or Food Engineering preferred
  • 5 years minimum project management experience
  • 7 years minimum R&D and/or application group product development experience
  • 5 years minimum experience in ice cream R&D, TAG or operation
