As the Factory Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you lead all maintenance and engineering operations within the factory to ensure uncompromised standards of employee safety, product integrity, and environmental protection. You drive initiatives that enhance product quality, optimize plant performance, and align with overall business objectives. You are accountable for shaping and executing the factory’s strategic vision for manufacturing reliability and serve as a critical member of the factory leadership team.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Define, propose and monitor the implementation of the Factory Engineering team’s plans and objectives in accordance with the Engineering Policy, Key Principles and the Key Engineering Activities as outlined in the Nestlé Engineering Excellence (NEE) master document.
  • Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources related to Factory Engineering.
  • Lead and coordinate the Factory Engineering team and maintain competencies, motivation and performance to achieve the team’s mission and objectives.
  • Propose and control the Factory Engineering budget as well as the factory's capital investment plans and related capital expenditures.
  • Plan and manage all approved capital projects.
  • Propose and monitor Factory Engineering in accordance with the key performance indicators.
  • Demonstrate and promote the company's values within the Factory Engineering team.
  • Contribute toward the Strategic and Tactical Leadership of the factory and division as a whole.
  • Ensure an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations within the engineering team; no compromises should be tolerated regarding product safety/quality, people safety, and the environment.
  • Liaise daily with Production and Quality Assurance to resolve technical issues and ensure optimal operation.
  • Ensure all team members are familiar with and implement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Ensure environmental compliance with Nestlé Environmental Management System (NEMS) and Nestlé Environmental Minimum Technical Requirements (NEMTR).
  • Ensure compliance with Nestlé Operational Safety, Health and Risk Management Strategy.
  • Execute maintenance in accordance with the Nestlé Maintenance Strategy using the Consequence Driven Maintenance philosophy.
  • Implement Asset Maintenance Management as Factory Maintenance System, including:
    • Technical Stores Management
    • Work Order Management and Labor Hour allocation
    • Equipment Bill of Material (BOM)
  • Drive the implementation of Maintenance Best Practices.
  • Optimize Predictive Maintenance technologies (Condition Monitoring and inspections) to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Utilize Planned Downtime for Scheduled and Condition-Based Maintenance.
  • Initiate and coordinate the implementation of new processes/technologies with local, market, PTC, CTU and SBU engineering.
  • Safeguard ‘Product Mastership’ equipment-related technical knowledge.
  • Maintain and develop functional expertise in technical operations (Maintenance, Projects, Industrial Services, Store) by providing training and development programs.
  • Initiate and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) to achieve industrial process and plant optimization.
  • Execute and control Factory Routine, Extra-ordinary Maintenance and Capital Investment Budgets.
  • Manage resources continuously to align with factory objectives and business strategies, including outsourcing opportunities.
  • Ensure Nestlé's proprietary technology is protected by adopting a careful relationship with third parties, particularly outsourcing partners.
  • Manage responsibilities relating to Engineering Activities:
    • Asset Planning: Manage factory engineering data for Market Business Strategy (MBS) decisions.
    • Project Management: Monitor capital investments; ensure justification, approval, and reporting align with guidelines.
    • Maintenance & Improvement (M&I): Execute M&I per Nestlé Maintenance Strategy using CDM and AMM.
    • Industrial Services: Ensure utilities meet acceptance criteria for product and processes.
    • E&A-MES: Ensure electrical services, automation, and MES align with business requirements.
    • Energy Management: Implement and maintain Nestlé Energy Management Tool (NEMT).
    • Process & Packaging Optimization: Drive innovation/renovation within the factory.
    • Outsourcing & Contracting: Manage all engineering-related issues.
  • Inspire and lead people by practicing Nestlé's Management and Leadership principles and values.
  • Develop people through identifying needs, supporting learning, and encouraging training programs.
  • Act consistently with and embody Nestlé Principles and Values.
  • Work collaboratively with others and influence to gain commitment.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Chemical, or Process.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a technical field, preferably in a food manufacturing facility including maintenance responsibilities.
  • Supervisory experience in previous assignment.
  • In-depth knowledge of food processing plant and technology.
  • Knowledge of maintenance technologies and operation of utilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements for food safety and hygienic engineering (OSH&R).
  • Understanding of financial analysis and relevant business drivers.
  • Knowledge of Nestlé Standard Costing, Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM), and CAPEX budgeting and preparation (CIAT).
  • Experience in Project Engineering/Management – Plant Design & Construction.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Services and Energy Management (NEMT).
  • Good understanding of electricity, control, and automation.
  • 1–3 years TPM / continuous improvement process development.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Visio, CDM, AMM, ESAT, CIAT, NEMT, NEST, etc.
  • Strong technical and managerial skills with demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Analytical skills in problem solving and ability to apply root cause problem solving.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills with ability to balance and prioritize several projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills.
  • Ability to act in several roles depending upon the situation (facilitator, leader, executor, etc.).
  • Ability to assert influence over events to achieve goals.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $130,000.00 to $160,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
