Position Summary

Nestled at the confluence of the Rock and Crawfish rivers, our factory has been a cornerstone since 1910. As one of the largest manufacturers in the region, we ship countless truckloads and railcars of beloved brands like Fancy Feast®, Friskies®, and Pro Plan®. Beyond our mass production, our Jefferson factory proudly donates 1.2 million cans of food annually, supporting over 40 animal shelters and organizations. Our factory is also doing our part to care for the environment we share, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, and maintaining zero waste for disposal. A Staff Engineer is responsible for equipment Re-design, implementing, controlling and optimizing manufacturing processes & machinery to achieve organizational targets.  This position identifies, prioritizes, eliminates process losses and integrates capital projects to achieve targets.  Additional responsibilities include defining equipment standards, leading process benchmarking and reapplication, and building capability within teams to do technical troubleshooting and process improvement.

 

  • Analyze loss data to identify and prioritize projects to be executed in factory's continuous improvement plan
  • Run capital projects through the engineering team including project management, quoting, and contractor management
  • Initiate and lead process/equipment improvements that will increase throughput, reduce scrap, improve quality, and eliminate losses
  • Drive and mobilize resources to conduct problem solving on systems or equipment through failure modes & effects analysis (FMEA) and other Six Sigma methodology
  • Understand Nestle Continuous Excellence program and the respective TPM Pillars and tools
  • Participate in design, commissioning, and startup of new equipment/processes, collaborate/Align with OSL, NPE    
  • Routine of sharing/benchmarking redesign (includes feedback to design – Capital Installation) activities for respective location; Market led routine
  • Creating and improving standards that enable sustainability of high preforming production processes
  • Supporting training programs that develop high performing operators and technicians
  • Performs structured problem-solving using step method of defining, root cause analysis, data gathering, potential solutions, implementation, monitoring, standardizing, and share lessons learned

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in an engineering role within a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $84,000- $108,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
