Safety Coordinator 2nd shift M-F 4:00pm to 12:00am  
Pay: 25.92 Hourly with a $1.50 shift differential 

 

POSITION SUMMARY
The Technician Facility SH&E provides regular support within the Safety, Health, and Environment team. This role promotes and contributes to a site culture where Safety, Health and Environment are engrained as a core value with all employees. The Technician Facility SH&E assists with program adherence, follow-up, and coordination of SH&E related trainings and activities. This role is key in ensuring ongoing excellence in SH&E compliance and expected work practices.  


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  •     High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education
  •     Bachelor’s degree in safety-related field preferred. 
  •     Minimum 1 year related and verifiable work experience may be substituted for education.


EXPERIENCE:  

 •2-5 Years’ Experience in a manufacturing environment with general knowledge of plant operations.
                •OSHA 30-Hour is a plus 
 
SKILLS:    

•    Strong track record in support of SH&E culture.  
•    Demonstrate general knowledge of SH&E policies and practices. 
•    Service as a SH&E representative or committee member is a plus. 
•    Working knowledge of site-specific Safety, Health, and Environmental programs.  
•    Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment. 
•    Communicate effectively with various support groups, supervisors, and team members.  
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs. 
•    Ability to effectively manage time.  
•    Demonstrates functional knowledge/use of standard LOTO procedures/practices

Assess and Manage Risks (50%) 

•    Analyze SH&E conditions and collaborate with SH&E team to recommend changes to continuously improve facility SH&E performance.  
•    Follow-up on action items until they are appropriately completed and closed out.   
•    Complete routine job hazard analyses and internal inspections/audits.
  
Provide SH&E Leadership (30%) 

•    Active participant in SH&E committee team(s).  
•    Observe and coach employees to ensure adherence to SH&E policies and procedures.  
•    Support a culture where Safety, Health, and Environmental Sustainability are ingrained as a core value.  
•    Coordinate training classes for SH&E related items such as: New Hire Orientation, LOTO, HazCom, Chemical Inventory & Management, etc. 

Implement Management Systems (20%) 

•    Provide Support with all key SH&E Management system.

•    All other duties and tasks including both essential and nonessential as assigned.
