Position Summary
As Global Procurement Manager – Ingredients, you will manage a highly specialised global category that plays a critical role in product innovation, natural processing solutions, and supply resilience. You will partner closely with R&D, Quality, factories, and strategic suppliers to develop long-term category strategies, qualify alternative sources, manage total cost of ownership, and enable innovation across food and beverage applications.

A day in a life of a Global Procurement Manager – Ingredients
Reporting to the Global Category Leader, you will define the direction, objectives, and relevant success metrics, ensuring a seamless roadmap from strategy to implementation.
- Define and implement the category strategy, balancing cost, quality, supply continuity, innovation, and total cost of ownership.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (R&D, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Supply Chain) to align procurement strategies with business needs.
- Manage long-term strategic supplier partnerships in a niche category where technical capability, IP, and supply resilience are critical.
- Drive supplier qualification projects that may require extensive technical trials, factory validation, and cross-functional alignment over extended timelines.
- Identify and mitigate supply risks, particularly where materials are single-source or dependent on highly specialised supplier capabilities.
- Support innovation by enabling enzyme technologies that can help deliver the same taste, texture, and stability while reducing reliance on certain chemical ingredients.
What Makes You Successful
- Experience in strategic procurement, category management, technical sales, or supplier management within food manufacturing, nutrition, health science, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or specialty ingredients.
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing, formulations, food science, bio-transformation, fermentation, or enzyme-related technologies is highly valued.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects involving R&D, Quality, manufacturing, and external suppliers.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to understand cost structures, assess supplier proposals, and manage long-term value creation.
- Strong supplier and stakeholder relationship management skills, including communication, negotiation, influencing and presentation.
- Business Proficient in English; proficiency in additional languages such as Mandarin, French, is beneficial.
