A day in a life of a Project Manager for Procurement Performance Acceleration (PPA)
- Identify priority procurement use cases where advanced analytics or GenAI can materially improve efficiency, insight, or decision quality.
- Translate business needs into clear solution concepts, architectures, and working prototypes that can be tested quickly with end users.
- Design and develop initial solution implementations, sufficient to validate logic, usability, and value, and to provide a clear blueprint for scale.
- Work in close collaboration with Procurement stakeholders to refine solutions based on real usage and feedback.
- Partner with IT, data, and security teams to prepare solutions for industrialisation, providing clear specifications, acceptance criteria, and quality expectations.
- Drive progress through short delivery cycles, balancing speed with robustness, governance, and enterprise constraints.
- Monitor adoption and impact, adjusting solutions as needed to ensure sustained use and measurable value.
What makes you successful:
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in applied AI, data science, advanced analytics, or software-enabled product delivery, with evidence of shipping solutions used in practice.
- Hands-on builder: able to design and implement working AI solutions independently (prototype/reference implementation), including clean code, tests, and clear interfaces.
- Strong quantitative foundation (data science, statistics/applied mathematics, operations research, computer science, or economics) and ability to reason with uncertainty and complex trade-offs.
- Experience with modern GenAI solution patterns such as agentic workflows, tool/function calling, structured outputs, orchestration/state management, and evaluation-driven iteration.
- Strong engineering fundamentals: Python (preferred), API/service design, version control, testing, and pragmatic documentation.
- Ability to work business-embedded: translate procurement needs into solution designs, iterate fast with users, and drive adoption and measurable impact.
- Experience partnering with IT to industrialize and deploy solutions at scale, using clear requirements, acceptance criteria, and quality expectations.
