Main Purpose of the Job

The Manufacturing Excellence, Safety and Environment Associate supports the implementation of Manufacturing Excellence and Safety & Environment systems at Port Qasim Factory. The role assists in performance reporting, continuous improvement, capability building, compliance management, risk reduction, environmental sustainability and factory-wide improvement initiatives, in line with Nestlé standards and the ambition of zero accidents, zero environmental incidents and zero waste.

A Day in the Life of a Manufacturing Excellence, Safety and Environment Associate

  • Support implementation of the factory Manufacturing Excellence roadmap, pillar activities, maturity assessments and continuous improvement plans.
  • Coordinate monthly and periodic reporting of Manufacturing Excellence, Safety and Environment KPIs, ensuring data accuracy and timely submission.
  • Support factory operational reviews, including preparation of performance presentations, action trackers and improvement updates.
  • Assist in deployment of improvement methodologies such as DMAIC, GSTD, SMED, standard routines and problem-solving tools.
  • Support Manufacturing Excellence pillars in maintaining pillar structures, competence development plans, implementation roadmaps and assessment readiness.
  • Coordinate capability-building activities, training calendars and competence development plans for Manufacturing Excellence, Safety and Environment.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of factory Safety and Environment management systems and relevant Nestlé standards.
  • Participate in safety and environmental risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis and follow-up of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with applicable legal requirements, Nestlé standards, permits, NOCs and mandatory inspections.
  • Support internal and external audits, self-assessments and closure of findings related to Safety, Environment and Manufacturing Excellence.
  • Monitor environmental performance relating to water, energy, waste, wastewater and other factory sustainability initiatives.
  • Support SHE-PM reporting, environmental data management and tracking of safety and environmental objectives.
  • Promote safety ownership, environmental awareness and continuous improvement behaviours among employees and contractors.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Human Resources, to deliver factory improvement priorities.
  • Strictly abide by the WHO and Local Code in the execution of the role in both letter and spirit.

Are You a Fit?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related discipline.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing systems, continuous improvement methodologies and operational performance indicators.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental management systems, risk assessment, incident investigation and legal compliance.
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Good communication, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and influence safe, sustainable and improvement-focused behaviours.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and data reporting or visualization tools would be preferred.
  • Strong ownership, integrity, learning agility and commitment to keeping people safe and protecting the environment.
