POSITION SUMMARY

Since 1997, our factory has been a leading producer of the nation's cat litter supply. Located on Tidy Cat Road, our 40-acre plant site is seamlessly connected to a clay mine, enabling efficient mining, processing, packaging, and shipping. Operating around the clock, we mass produce conventional and clumping cat litter, supplying the mid-Atlantic region with nearly a third of a million tons annually. Our culture of continuous improvement drives Tidy Cats® product innovations, revolutionizing the cat litter category with LightWeight® litter, combining strength with half the weight. We’re also doing our part to care for the environment we share, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will operate and maintain mining equipment and other related equipment to ensure a smooth flow of clay from the mine to the processing department. You’ll also perform basic facility grounds maintenance as needed to support our King William, VA team. 

This position will work day shift (7am-7pm) on a rotating weekly schedule with every other weekend off.

• Operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to 40-ton articulating haul truck, front end loader, skid steerer, excavator, water truck, and dozers.
• Perform safety checks, operate, troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform lubrication on equipment.
• Communicate with other assigned operators, departments, and with supervisors.
• Adhere to all safety policies and all regulatory, factory and divisional safety standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 1+ years of experience operating heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, haul trucks, and loaders 

Other

• Virginia DMME Mine Foreman certification
• Ability to acquire and maintain the Virginia DMME Mine Foreman certification upon meeting the state minimum requirements

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $35.00. Please note that the pay provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
