As an Associate Sensory Specialist & Panel Leader, you will lead descriptive sensory panel activities. You will play an active role in recommending appropriate methodologies, generating & analyzing sensory data, and establish reports with conclusions and recommendations aligned with project objectives. You will adhere to sensory best practices and have proficiency in conducting sensory evaluation, as well as understand the importance of consumer research.

A Day in the Life of an Associate Sensory Specialist & Panel Leader

 

  • Manage and execute sensory studies with excellence, from planning to analysis and reporting, providing valuable insights to project teams.
  • Lead and train descriptive sensory panels, taking responsibility for planning, preparing, and running panel sessions, as well as closely monitoring and evaluating their performance.
  • Collaborate with Technicians and Sensory & Product Experience Specialists for seamless execution.
  • Provide sensory guidance to cross-functional project teams, contributing to the success of projects.
  • Develop and deliver category-specific sensory trainings for R&D and markets.
  • Define and maintain effective sensory methods and tools specific to the product category.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Bachelor's (or Master's) degree or equivalent in Sensory Science, Food Technology, Food Science, Consumer Science, or a related field.
  • Practical experience in various sensory analysis techniques and their applications.
  • Good knowledge in Statistics.
  • Previous operational experience in panel moderating is advantageous.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including MS-Office and dedicated technical software (e.g. EyeQuestion).
  • Experience in the FMCG industry from the R&D perspective is a bonus.
  • Additional experience in the dairy or infant nutrition field is a plus.
  • Fluent in both German and English languages.
