Position Summary 

 

As a Global Product Development Manager Infant & Early Nutrition you will be responsible for leading and developing a Nutrition R&D team in Konolfingen, in close collaboration with global R&D partners. In this strategic leadership role, you will accelerate the deployment of innovation across the Infant and Toddler Nutrition category, ensuring local market needs are translated into strong global pipelines. You will shape category R&D strategy, identify new innovation opportunities, and build external partnerships to enhance scientific and technological capabilities. By balancing portfolio, resources, and performance, you will contribute to sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term competitiveness of the Infant and Toddler Nutrition business.

 

A Day in the Life of a Global Product Development Manager Infant & Early Nutrition

 

  • Lead the local Nutrition R&D team and foster strong collaboration with global R&D networks.
  • Define market-specific science, technology, clinical, sustainability, and packaging requirements.
  • Translate local innovation needs into robust global innovation pipelines.
  • Manage a balanced project portfolio aligned with business strategy, resources, and budgets.
  • Deploy innovation projects on time, on budget, and smoothly into operations.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with universities, research institutes, suppliers, and scientific partners.
  • Engage senior stakeholders across markets, SBUs, factories, and R&D communities.
  • Drive talent development, succession planning, and an innovative R&D culture.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Advanced degree in food science, nutrition, engineering, or a related scientific discipline
  • 10–15 years of international experience across R&D and operations environments in the category
  • Proven experience leading and developing teams in complex, cross-functional settings
  • Strong understanding of food technology, quality, regulatory, and innovation processes
  • Ability to manage budgets, portfolios, and strategic resource allocation
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
  • High integrity, adaptability, and passion for people, products, and consumers
  • Fluent English; additional languages are an advantage
