Position Summary  

 

Within the All Family & Affordable Milks Team, we are looking for an open-minded and curious product developer & digital specialist working with us to shape the future of family and age tailored nutrition products and to support wider developer community with data, digital tools, AI embedded as end-to-end enablers for speed, efficiency and differentiation in product development. 

 

As a Product Developer & Digital Specialist, you can make a difference particularly in lives of children by developing the next generation of milk & plant-based nutrition products. In this role you will be responsible to manage the development, innovation and renovation of liquid & powdered products and processes from concept through all stages of development up to industrialization in close collaboration with experienced manufacturing specialists. You will lead the product and process development part and interact proactively with other strategic functions such as R&D, QA, Commercial, Regulatory to ensure overall project objectives, such as quality, timing and budget. In addition, you provide technical assistance to our factories when necessary. 

 

A Day in the Life of a Product Developer & Digital Specialist

 

  • Passionate to improve affordable nutrition in emerging markets.  
  • Proactive and curious to propose new ideas and projects to stakeholders in R&D, Markets and Strategic Business Unit.
  • Design, plan and execute trials on laboratory/kitchen/benchtop/pilot plant scale and support the execution of factory trials in collaboration with market operation teams.
  • Deliver final product propositions together with scientists, manufacturing, quality, regulatory functions, and collaborate closely with marketing, consumer and global project management team.
  • Passion to create pilot experiments and link them with mathematical modelling to predict attributes related to product & consumer liking.
  • Frame the past data to bring insights and value for new development.
  • Link with broader digital organization within Nestlé to scout and qualify relevant tools & solutions for product development. 
  • Strong drive to identify gaps and enhance the existing tools such as Nestle Trial Management System, SAP-RM and integrate into day-to-day PD job. 
  • Become an ambassador and coach for emerging technologies in product innovation with “Digital first” culture across R&D product developers.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in the field of R&D, Manufacturing, Application group or similar technical function would be required. 
  • A tech savvy and demonstrated experience of tools in data, digital & AI.  
  • Bachelors/master’s degree in food technology/food science/food engineering/chemistry or equivalent education. An additional degree or certification in Data science/Digital/IT is preferred with demonstrated practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience in product development with focus on ingredient selection, recipe design, powder processing technologies including wet processing (such as pasteurization, UHT), spray drying and dry mixing.
  • Excellent communication skills with good sense of teamwork, networking skills and sharing culture.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written), at ease in international environment.
