Position Summary
The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discovers, develops and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption. It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provides new products and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

Whitin the Nestlé Development Unit in the powder creamer group at the Nestlé Research & Development center in Konolfingen near Bern, we are looking for an open-minded and entrepreneurial “R&D Product Development Specialist”, working with us to shape the future of powder creamer category.
In this role you will lead product development activities for the innovation and renovation of powder creamer products and provide technical assistance to our factories.
You will collaborate cross-functionally at both local and international levels to ensure project objectives are met and to deliver innovative products and processes that align with Nestlé best practices and ways of working.

A Day in the Life of a R&D Product Development Specialist
- Develop innovative and competitive powder creamer products which meet consumer needs
- Plan, coordinate, and execute product development and/or projects in alignment with business plans and needs
- Design, plan, and execute trials from lab & kitchen scale, through pilot plant up to factory scale
- Additionally, provide support to local product development projects in the markets
- Support teams in breakthrough concepts, products, and processes ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, and on-time launch.
- Anticipate issues, mitigate risks and provide alternative solutions.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team within the R&D community, including scientists, quality and manufacturing managers, as well as with marketing, application groups, and factories
- Document knowledge and exchange on the latest methods, trends, and developments
- Actively participate in expert networks to promote cross-fertilization between different sites and departments
What will make you successful
- Degree in food science, food engineering or related disciplines, PhD degree is a plus
- Extensive experience in the field of powder creamer product development or similar
- Confirmed experience in R&D and/or manufacturing
- Knowledge on powder structure and drying processes.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present confidently and handle stakeholders at all levels
- Strong sense of teamwork and sharing culture, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit
- Fluent in English, any other language is a plus
