Position Summary

 

At Nestlé Research and Development in Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland, we develop for Nestlé worldwide, new products, processes and packaging concepts in the areas of Dairy and Nutrition. In addition, we also provide technical assistance to our factories.

Your main missions will be to develop, apply and, maintain Process Automation, Digital Manufacturing Operation (DMO/MES) and Digital engineering knowledge, solutions and standards for Nutrition IF & GUMs category and other Nestlé units such as Dairy and NHS. Coach and support Capex project teams in the area of Electrical, Automation and Digital. Provide technical assistance to factories in the field of Operation Technologies.

A day in the life of a Senior Engineering Specialist – Digital & Automation

 

  • Identify, develop and validate the Process Control, Automation and Digital solutions
  • Develop and improve the standard process automation packages for IF & GUM manufacturing line
  • Ensure TCU Electricity, Automation, Process Control, MES deliverables and standards are implemented
  • Support industrialization start-ups till product commissioning
  • Active participation in the Digital and Automation community of the category (knowledge sharing, training, feedback to design)
  • Actively participate in expert network to promote cross-fertilization between different sites (R&D, Org. Units)
  • Coach and guide younger team members and capex project team members in the area of Digital and Automation
  • Translate Product and Process knowledge into Digital and Automation solutions to enable product and process mastership
What will make you successful

 

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in the field of engineering
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on control system platform used in the category (Rockwell / Wonderware)
  • Experience in control system application development, commissioning and maintenance
  • Capability to identify uses cases / opportunities where digital technology will add value
  • Fluent English written and oral communication skills, any other language is a plus
  • Insight and knowledge of dairy / infant formula manufacturing process
  • Knowledge and experience in operation technologies and data analytics
  • Project management skills, networking capabilities and multidisciplinary teamwork
