At Nestlé Research and Development in Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland, we develop for Nestlé worldwide new products, processes and packaging concepts for a broad range of products of our Nutrition, Dairy, Health Science and Coffee businesses. In addition, we also provide technical assistance to our factories.
 

As a “Evaporation Senior Engineering Specialist”, you will lead the design and optimization of evaporation systems for Infant Formula and Milk Powder production, ensuring operational excellence and delivering our Net Zero Targets through highly efficient and effective operations for R&D and Nestlé factories across the world. You will provide technical expertise and guidance in evaporation process engineering, including equipment selection, process optimization, and troubleshooting. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will drive innovation, develop new technologies, and improve existing evaporation processes to enhance productivity, quality, and sustainability.

A Day in the Life of a Evaporation Senior Engineering Specialist
 

  • Participate and lead evaporation and liquid processing operation improvement initiatives.
  • Support markets/factories with engineering assistance on evaporation.
  • Define and develop industrial solutions for new competitive technologies in evaporation and up-concentration.
  • Collaborate with strategic suppliers to improve existing installed base and scout new technologies.
  • Drive digitalization of evaporators for higher operator centricity, including dashboarding and improved controls.
  • Set and maintain standards for new and existing technologies.
  • Lead development and deployment projects across R&D and the markets.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop less experienced team members and subject matter experts in production plants.


What will make you successful
 

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Process Engineering or equivalent
  • Extensive experience and substantial knowledge in the design, installation, commissioning and operation of Evaporators 
  • Up-to-date knowledge in safety, hygienic engineering and Net Zero Technologies 
  • Knowledge of Infant Formula, Dairy Industry or Food and Beverage industry is a plus
  • Strong processing troubleshooting skills in an industrial environment
  • CAPEX Project Management background/experience
  • Openness, curiosity and passion for the field and future trends in technology
  • Ability to navigate and lead through change
  • Mindset for continuous improvement
  • Fluent in English
