Position Summary

 

As a Team Leader Project Engineering, you will lead the Project Engineering group in the Site Engineering Department at the Nestlé Research and Development Site in Konolfingen (NRDK). In collaboration with your team, you are responsible to plan, execute and close-out CAPEX and improvement projects for the various businesses in close collaboration with our pilot plant, quality department and other stakeholders. You are committed to deliver the projects in time, in budget and beyond expectation with your enthusiasm and drive. Your sound technical background and experience in project management allow you to add value to all projects both in content and the way we execute them.

A day in the life of a Team Leader Project Engineering

 

  • Build Engineering Competence / People development through resource planning and coaching and developing team members
  • Capex Management: 
    • Define and implement the way of working: define necessary milestones, key documents, project KPIs that allow an easy tracking of project status, clarify roles and responsibilities etc.
    • Manage Capex envelope: consolidate and fine-tune budget requests, pro-active follow-up on cost including forecast of spending, promotion of the right mind set for cost improvements and awareness
    • Priority setting: provide a good overview allowing to define the correct priorities and timing for all requests
  • Ensure our projects start with a clearly defined and aligned scope and end with a successful hand-over including all documentation, trainings, and qualification documents
  • Full commitment to compliance (legal, safety, quality, finance), ensure a high level of safety and quality
  • Pro-active interaction with stakeholders understanding their needs and ideas, simplify complex matters in a way that decisions can be made, document meetings, regular up-dates on project status and escalation where necessary
  • Innovation / Sustainability: Support and promote innovative solutions, challenge, and improve status-quo
     

What will make you successful

 

  • Engineering degree (process, mechanical, chemical, food, electrical) with min. 10 years of professional experience
  • Experience in leading bigger or complex Capex projects (including personnel and Capex responsibility) from design to construction, commissioning and final hand-over
  • Experience in food industry including qualification, machinery safety and project execution parallel to operations
  • Excellent networking and communication skills 
  • Fluent in both English and German
