Position Summary

 

As a Group Leader Consumer and Sensory Insight, you will lead sensory and consumer understanding activities, competences and resources for Global Dairy to ensure innovation meets consumer expectations and is aligned with business strategies. In this position, you will be responsible for developing short- and long-term plans to close key category insight gaps and execute those plans.

 

Our Research & Development center in Konolfingen near Bern / Switzerland develops for Nestlé worldwide, new products, processes and packaging in the areas of Dairy and Nutrition. The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Dairy plans and develops Innovation & Renovation pipelines to support growth and profitability of our Dairy business via a consumer centric approach. It ensures scientific, technological and manufacturing excellence through the development of the right competences.

A Day in the Life of a Group Leader Consumer and Sensory Insight

 

  • Activate and encourage a consumer-centric mindset within NPTC and ensure unit recognition and credibility through a close collaboration with business on consumer and sensory related activities, manage and influence stakeholders accordingly
  • Ensure early-phase collaboration between all project stakeholders (R&D, businesses and others) to facilitate sharing and alignment in consumer and sensory (objectives, plan, outcomes, existing knowledge)
  • Ensure build-up of consumer & sensory expertise and its dissemination within the product category/business 
  • Continue to build capability in the team on new tools and agile methods
  • Support the team to provide consultancy and trainings to markets, businesses and in NPTC on Consumer and Sensory related topics and methodologies
  • Manage an international Team of experts based in different countries: recruit, motivate and develop staff to ensure high-quality competencies to provide adequate level of support to internal clients

What will make you successful

 

  • University degree in Business Administration or Food Science (or related discipline) 
  • Minimum 8-10 years of successful experience in market research, sensory evaluation, Consumer behavior & product testing, Social & Digital tools within one of the following environments: Business, R&D or Market research on agency side  
  • Prior experience in managing groups of 5-10 experts 
  • Ability to work smart and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage projects in a creative and independent manner
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholders at transversal levels
  • Data expert with understanding of relevant technology platforms
  • Strong affinity for digital tools & social media  
  • Fluent in English written & spoken
