Position Summary

 

 

We are currently looking for a qualified Legal Counsel to be based in our Hub in Kuala Lumpur. This is a key position within the Legal Procurement Team – reporting to the Head of legal, and you will support a group of spend categories assigned to you with holistic, pragmatic and business oriented legal advice, in particular on transactional & contract matters.

A day in the life of a Legal Counsel - Services & Indirect Materials

 

•    Supporting the Nestlé global procurement function (Nestrade), focusing on the services and indirect materials categories (e.g. information technology, external workforce, market research, marketing content and media)
•    Proviing support to the Legal Counsels (SPOCs) who advise the services and indirect materials categories, including with respect to ad-hoc projects
•    Engage with and support the global procurement teams, located across various time zones
•    Participate in the negotiation of procurement contracts, leading as required
•    Support the development of best-in-class form agreements and processes
•    Liaise with stakeholders and specialists (e.g. business, procurement, legal) as required or advisable
•    Support the legal needs of the Malaysian Procurement Hub, in particular those related to the operation of the Nestrade branch incorporated in Malaysia
•    Protect the best interests of the Nestlé Group, always aligned with fundamental Corporate and Procurement policies
 

What will make you successful

•    At least 2 years PQE as a lawyer
•    Previous in-house legal expereince
•    Transactional experience, especially related to procurement (negotiation, contracts)
•    Understanding of intellectual property and privacy in a transactional setting
•    Experience with cloud services and on-premise software is a plus
•    Proven expereince in optimizing templates and processes
•    The ability to manage high visibility projects
•    High level prioritisation skills coupled with an ability to quickly identify key issues and address them 
•    Excellent communicatation skills (with clients and counterparties and key stakeholders)
•    Fluency in written and spoken English. Other languages are considered beneficial
