Position: Assistant Manager – Quality Assurance

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, the candidate will ensure implementation and periodic review of Quality Management Systems at Nestlé suppliers. The role includes maintaining quality control for incoming materials, driving supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with Nestlé and regulatory standards. It supports business performance through timely release of quality materials, reducing nonconformities, and optimizing sampling plans.

A day in the life of the role:

• Maintain approved suppliers for raw and packaging materials, ensuring quality performance and minimizing incidents.
• Execute supplier audit plans and coordinate documentation for international suppliers.
• Monitor vendor quality, drive improvement initiatives, and resolve issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Implement Quality Monitoring Scheme for incoming materials, including sampling, sensory checks, and release.
• Lead RM/PM laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with safety, GLP, training, and inventory management.
• Develop and execute contaminant surveillance plans with regional and zone experts.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and Nestlé standards for raw and packaging materials.

What will make you successful?

• Education: Batchelor's degree in Food science, Chemistry or Microbiology
• Expected experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Quality Management or Product Development
• Language skills: Fluency in English & Sinhala
• Other skills: Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management, influence and network with stakeholders.
