Position summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and open-minded Buyer to join our Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) Category team in Zone Europe.
This position is based in Vevey and reports to the Global Category Lead, working closely with the MRO Zone Europe Procurement Lead to implement the MRO Category strategy across Zone Europe.
This role offers a unique opportunity to strengthen your expertise in project management, procurement, change management, and data analytics while making a tangible impact on Nestlé’s European production operations.

A day in a life of a Buyer – MRO for Zone Europe:
- Lead sourcing activities for MRO products and services, including supplier scouting, RFP management using AI-enabled tools, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations through to contract signature.
- Implement the MRO category strategy for Zone Europe, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational needs.
- Manage supplier relationships, drive cost improvement plans, and ensure high service levels and performance across the MRO supply portfolio.
- Collaborate with factory maintenance and cross-functional teams to define procurement tactics and deliver value-driven solutions.
- Work with the procurement acceleration team to implement catalogues solution for the MRO product range.
- Continuously develop skills in procurement, change management, data analysis, and AI applications.
What makes you successful:
- University degree in procurement, supply chain, engineering, or equivalent.
- Proven success in procurement, ideally within MRO or related technical categories in complex, multi-country environments.
- Ability to work effectively with engineering and manufacturing stakeholders.
- Strong data acumen and interest in tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to lead sourcing projects and manage RFPs.
- Experience in supplier relationship management and development.
- Solid knowledge of strategic sourcing processes, risk management, and responsible sourcing.
- Ability to work effectively in virtual teams and influence stakeholders at market and factory levels.
- Excellent communication skills and passion for continuous learning.
- High proficiency in English (mandatory); additional European languages are an asset.
