Position Summary

 

As a Category Commercial Development Manager, you will be shaping the future of the Coffee Category Strategy for our key customers with our winning brands Nescafé, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Incarom and Starbucks. Externally, you will consult our customers on category strategy, perfect execution and promotional mix. Internally, you are the voice of the customer and Key Account Management to our Brand Marketing Team.

A Day in the Life of a Category Commercial Development Manager

 

  • Shape the Coffee Category Strategy for key customers and exploit the full growth potential, by supporting them analytically, building their capabilities and understanding of the category, leveraging the data at hand (Nielsen or customer-specific, market studies) in collaboration with European, Marketing and Sales teams.
  • Build & recommend assortment priorities & product switches, including Innovation & Renovation pipeline
  • Analyze shopper trends and needs in the Swiss context, to identify appropriate Shopper Activation strategies (based on consumers studies, consumer data and promotional analysis)
  • Lead and manage the process of SKU management and customization for the entire Business Unit, helping to shape the portfolio strategy heavily influencing the Sales and Marketing scope of activities
  • Recommendation of Shelf layout and portfolio optimization
  • Create fact-based selling stories by providing relevant Category, Channel and Customer information, including areas of under/over performance, rationale & potential future opportunities for growth
  • Lead the annual commercial planning process and develop convincing customer selling decks
  • Represent Nestlé’s category and channel expertise during customer meetings 

What will make you successful

 

  • University degree or equivalent 
  • 5-8 years’ experience in Marketing/Sales/Category Management
  • Entrepreneurial and problem-solving mindset
  • Strongly analytical
  • Good presentation and storytelling skills – internally & externally
  • Project Management skills 
  • Experience in leading cross functional teams
  • Understands key business functions i.e. Commercial, Finance, Marketing
  • Familiarity with the Swiss Retail landscape strongly preferred
  • German, French and English (1 language at C1, two languages on B2 level) – German is an asset
