Position summary
As a Commodity Price Risk Manager, you will be responsible for implementing approved Price Risk Management (PRM) strategies while monitoring spread risk at both the market and group levels. Your role will involve conducting in-depth research and statistical analysis to develop and continuously enhance hedging strategies. You will ensure alignment with organizational policies, contribute to strategic development, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, you will leverage industry networks for valuable market insights and provide training to team members. You will be part of an international team operating in a dynamic and complex environment.

A day in a life of a Commodity Price Risk Manager:
- Execute Hedging Strategy with Precision: Lead the implementation of category-specific hedging policies, ensuring full compliance with regulatory frameworks while maximizing performance relative to market benchmarks.
- Drive Market Intelligence and Risk Analysis: Continuously monitor commodity markets, analyse price fluctuations, and assess spread risk. Utilize research and statistical modelling to refine and enhance hedging strategies.
- Deliver Actionable Market Insights: Translate complex market dynamics into clear, strategic recommendations for category leads. Advise on optimal tools and approaches tailored to evolving market conditions.
- Enhance Transparency through Reporting: Provide timely and accurate visibility into coverage levels and B2B exposure. Collaborate with controlling teams to ensure robust reporting of market prices and risk positions.
- Innovate with Tools and Processes: Develop and implement new tools that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Price Risk Management and Research teams.
- Expand Hedging Capabilities: Evaluate and recommend new hedging scopes, ensuring alignment with business needs and risk appetite.
- Build Stakeholder Capability: Conduct regular training sessions for internal stakeholders, enhancing their understanding of commodity financial markets and fostering informed decision-making.
What makes you successful
- A university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or Statistics.
- At least 4 years of experience in similar positions, ideally including commodity futures and options derivatives.
- Experience in analysing financial data, including price trends, market volatility, market fundamentals, and economic indicators.
- Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and quantifying risks associated with price fluctuations & familiarity with risk management frameworks and methodologies is essential.
- Proven experience with specialized tools and sources of information, including hedging, futures, options, and pricing models.
- Ability to enhance current hedging strategies and develop new ones, while executing PRM strategies and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across a complex organization.
- Experience working closely with various departments and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
