Position Summary

 

Nestlé’s Global Procurement Legal Team is looking for its next Legal Intern to join an exciting one-year immersive Legal Internship Program. 

 

As a Legal Intern for Procurement, you will be supervised by a Senior Lawyer based in Switzerland. This internship is an opportunity to collaborate with and learn from an incredibly diverse team of 12 lawyers located across all Nestrade hubs (Panama City, Panama, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and La Tour de Peilz, Switzerland).

A Day in the Life of a Legal Intern for Procurement

 

During the program, by supporting and shadowing lawyers in the team, you will have the opportunity to develop the following skills:

 

  • Contract Law: understanding the nuances of contract drafting, negotiation, and enforcement. 
  • Compliance: Environmental Regulations (supporting Nestlé’s ambitious ESG Roadmap – Our Net Zero roadmap), Anti-Trust, Anti-Bribery and Corruption as well as Sanctions and Export Control, as well as Ethical Rules such as conflict of interest management. 
  • Legal Processes: enhancing processes, maintaining documentation and databases, implementing new templates, best practices and guidelines, creating training materials and supporting contract management activities. 
  • Dispute Resolution: pre-litigation proceedings, such as claim management, evidence gathering and settlement discussions. 
  • Intellectual Property Rights: learning about the wide array of intellectual property rights Nestlé needs to acquire or licence as well as enforce, to be able to use the products and/or services it purchases.
  • Risk Management: identify, assess, and manage legal risks in procurement activities. This would involve understanding the potential legal implications of different procurement decisions and how to mitigate these risks.
  • Legal Writing: from contracts, to processes to training materials, there will be ample opportunities to practice and improve legal writing skills, whereby precision, clarity, structure, persuasiveness, attention to detail and analytical skills blend into one. 
  • Soft Skills: In addition to technical legal skills, there will be learnings with regards to soft skills such as communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and project and stakeholder management.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Masters degree in Law
  • Previous legal working experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of adaptability and strong proactive skills
  • Able to work in cross functional environment and with Senior Leaders
  • Curiosity, open-mindedness, and good adaptability
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
