Position Summary
As a Public Affairs Manager, you will support to shape frame conditions in Switzerland to the benefit of Nestlé’s businesses, market access and manufacturing as well as to the business location Switzerland in general. You will contribute to economic effectiveness of operations and to the competitiveness of products / brands by shaping and applying regulations or agreements.
A Day in the Life of a Public Affairs Manager
- Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and stakeholders to strengthen the company’s reputation and shape policy framework in the company's interest
- Monitor cantonal and national political matters and assess potential relevance for Nestlé
- Elaborate positions and outline potential scenarios and implications for brands, products and businesses
- Provide updates on relevant political topics and trends in Switzerland to Corporate Affairs Team and Management
- Advocate Nestlé’s interests and engage in a coordinated advocacy regarding key issues (e.g. trade, customs, origin, tax, sustainability, responsible business, climate, circular economy) through association channels and direct interaction with relevant stakeholders
- Represent Nestlé’s interest in selected trade associations or in direct interaction with stakeholders
- Manage stakeholder events and stakeholder meetings
What will make you successful
- Strong interest and working experience in Swiss political system and Swiss public affairs
- Demonstrated track record of public affairs and stakeholder relations experience, relevant market expertise
- Proven experience in relevant roles, including participating in CSV and/or other social and environmental activities for companies, government, local NGOs or international organizations, trade associations, administration
- Excellent communication skills for the interaction with high-level internal and external stakeholders with fluency in written and spoken German (Swiss-German as a plus), French & English
- Diplomatic mindset
- Minimum a Bachelors' degree in political science, economic and social science, international relations, communication or equivalent
- Ability to build up & develop high-level stakeholder relations and network
