Position Summary

 

As a Key Account Manager for Purina, you will manage a portfolio of international well known and very important clients for their scope of operations in Switzerland in a very dynamic and sophisticated Petfood sector. Furthermore, you will be part of the Purina sales team, a strong, dynamic, young, and inspiring team of talents where you will have a great opportunity to develop further with strong support of the leadership team. 

 

You will develop and execute the sales plans in line with the company objectives and the guidance from the central European team on overall sales strategy for the business, applying the central guidelines for international clients, and adopting the same strategic principles for local ones.

A Day in the Life of a Key Account Manager

 

  • Drive the execution of plans with the aim to reach sales growth objectives, customer profitability and portfolio management at local level, as per the key priorities and guidelines that come from the central European team via the local business management
  • Monitor business/customer KPIs, budgets and evolution vs. target; responsible to ensure achievement of agreed customer targets and KPIs; ensure that data on customer level is analyzed on regular basis - diagnose issues and timely initiate effective corrective actions
  • Manage the customer- specific implementation of all launches, including managing distribution at the customers, in- store activation, support via promotional plans, merchandising, print at retailers etc. as per the framework provided centrally
  • Provide input to planning and execution of innovation/renovation initiatives – ensure maximum launch impact and continued post-launch support and evaluation
  • Understand competitive environment at the relevant local customers, as well as consumer & shopper behavior, needs of the customer to develop the category and improve competitiveness: respond to these needs with customized on-the-ground initiatives and activities
  • Ensure strong day to day business relationship with customers to ensure flawless execution continuously improve customer satisfaction - initiate and promote customer related initiatives/projects within the framework given by the central European team 
  • Liaise with other KAMs at Nestlé to ensure there is flow of information and operational insights that might be important in the day to day execution of sales plans for Purina
  • Work with the local Marketing function and Demand Supply Planning to ensure full transparency on the execution of all local activities and product availability

What will make you successful

 

  • University degree or equivalent 
  • At least 4 years of experience as KAM or Junior KAM, preferably within FMCG 
  • Results-driven entrepreneur with strong analytical abilities to understand the market, its competitive forces, and methodically pursue opportunities
  • Strong relationship skills and demonstrated ability to drive further the business
  • Eager to learn and to explore new business opportunities, agile mindset preferred
  • Demonstrated success in previous sales roles
  • Fluent in German, French and English
