Position Summary
Nestlé is seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator in Fiji to drive QA activities in new product development and industrialization for local and export markets. The role ensures full compliance with agreements, specifications, and Nestlé Quality Management principles while reporting any non‑conformance. It involves monitoring Contract Manufacturer KPIs, conducting audits, closing corrective actions, and supporting partners to uphold food safety, GMP, and quality standards.
A day in the life
- Support cross‑functional teams in delivering Quality Assurance activities for new product development, introduction, and industrialization across local and export markets.
- Conduct on‑site pre‑HACCP assessments and ensure all partner manufacturing facilities meet product safety requirements.
- Ensure full implementation and ongoing compliance with the Nestlé Quality Management System, including food safety, hygiene, GMP, and regulatory standards.
- Act as the market’s primary liaison for all quality‑related issues, including product investigations, organoleptic assessments, foreign matter risks, and coordination with global Nestlé affiliates.
- Oversee daily product quality compliance activities, including product release approvals, traceability exercises, and mock recalls.
- Lead consumer complaint investigations, prepare root‑cause and corrective‑action reports, and drive continuous improvement to reduce complaint rates.
- Participate in supplier, co‑manufacturer, and Nestlé group audits; ensure timely implementation and closure of corrective actions.
- Conduct site quality audits, support co‑manufacturers with work instructions and QA procedures, and perform sensory evaluations for new and existing products, including competitor benchmarking.
What makes you successful
- Strong grounding in NGMP, HACCP, and food safety systems, with the ability to identify and assess microbial, physical, chemical, and allergen-related hazards.
- Solid experience (3–4 years) in quality, technical, or operational roles, with demonstrated capability in Quality Management Systems and food science principles.
- Practical understanding of hygienic design, product category requirements, and manufacturing processes, enabling effective oversight of co‑manufacturers.
- Experience working within a large FMCG environment—to navigate corporate processes, standards, and quality networks.
- Academic background in microbiology, food science, or related fields, providing a strong technical foundation for decision‑making and problem‑solving.
