As a Specialist in Analytical Chemistry of Packaging Materials, you will use analytical chemistry to identify and semi quantify molecules migrating from new packaging materials. Work in different NIPS projects to translate innovation to the impact of packaging safety and compliance.

A Day in the Life of a Specialist in Analytical Chemistry of Packaging Materials

 

  • Translate chemical screening information into safety assessments of new packaging materials
  • Knowledge of packaging materials and migration of molecules thereof
  • Knowledge on analytical chemistry and bioinformatic tools enabling identification of migrating compounds and compilation thereof
  • Provide assistance to colleagues in R&D in safety assessment of new packaging materials
  • Critically review packaging safety data provided by suppliers and interact with them
  • Actively participate in relevant Expert Networks and collaborate with others in projects internally and externally
  • develop a personal network of expertise internally and externally to collaborate and leverage into solutions needed by the company

 

What will make you successful

 

  • PhD in analytical chemistry with ideally a first professional experience in the field (2-3 years)
  • Experience with packaging (safety) is a plus
  • Good knowledge on chromatographic methods coupled to mass spectrometry
  • Knowledge on bioinformatic methodologies
  • High motivation and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills
