Position Summary
As an Animal Nutrition and Modelling Intern at the Nestlé Institute of Agricultural Sciences, you will conduct a literature review and meta‑analysis to study the relationship between dairy cow nutrition and enteric methane emissions. You will assess and potentially develop prediction models, work with datasets and mathematical modelling, and collaborate with experts in biostatistics, animal nutrition, and rumen microbiology, contributing to Nestlé’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the dairy supply chain.

A Day in the Life of an Animal Nutrition and Modelling Intern
- Search, review, and extract data from scientific literature
- Build, clean, and update the database supporting the meta‑analysis
- Run statistical analyses and contribute to modelling activities
- Assess the performance of existing methane‑prediction models
- Support the development and validation of new mathematical models
- Collaborate with experts in biostatistics, animal nutrition, and rumen microbiology
- Summarize findings through clear visualizations and short internal reports
- Join team meetings and scientific discussions to align next steps and contribute to Nestlé’s methane‑reduction research efforts
What will make you successful
- Master’s student or recent graduate in agriculture, animal science, statistics, data science or a related field
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and experience and aptitude in mathematical modelling and statistics
- Programming skills (SAS, R or Python) is a plus
- Interest in sustainable agricultural practices, ruminant nutrition and rumen fermentation
- Demonstrated critical thinking and data-driven approach
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Oral and written fluency in English, French is a plus
