We are looking for an Associate Biostatistician, where your role will involve programming statistical analyses for ongoing clinical trials, presenting the results to the trial team and at investigator meetings, and writing the statistical sections in the protocol and analysis plan. Additionally, you will contribute to the clinical trial risk assessment and oversee outsourced activities.

 

In this position, it is important to demonstrate scientific curiosity and possess good communication skills. You will have the opportunity to leverage existing clinical data to generate new scientific hypotheses, drive innovative clinical trial designs and novel statistical approaches, and integrate real-world data to generate clinical evidence. Furthermore, you will contribute to the digital transformation of the end-to-end clinical process.

 

This role will involve collaboration with various functions such as project management, data management, clinical development, scientists, and digital transformation leads. It will provide you with the opportunity to broaden your knowledge in clinical development and operations, research and development, and various Nestlé businesses.

 

A Day in the Life of an Associate Biostatistician

 

  • Provide input in the evidence development strategy of ongoing projects (including design, sample size, modeling/simulations) by evaluating available scientific knowledge.
  • Propose statistical approaches, ensuring their feasibility, efficiency, validity, and reproducibility.
  • Communicate statistical information (e.g., analysis methodology, designs, results) to the broad clinical team.
  • Develop efficient programs in SAS or R (proficiency in both is ideal).
  • Maintain high-quality documentation such as the statistical analysis plan.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Master’s degree and/or PhD in a field relevant to Biostatistics, PhD would be an asset. 
  • Up to 2 years of experience in academia or industry as a Biostatistician.
  • Understanding of biostatistics in all phases of clinical development, from planning and execution to analysis and reporting.
  • Proficiency with various statistical methodologies applied in clinical trials and knowledge of regulatory guidelines.
  • Analytic thought process and ability to interpret results.
  • Ability to effectively communicate concepts and results to a broad audience.
