As an Associate Specialist Metabolomics your main activities will be within research or business projects, propose and develop state-of-the-art analytical metabolomics-based methods using either nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) or mass spectrometry for analyzing biofluids or final products. You will also work on the interpretation of the data generated based on good knowledge in metabolism (and in microbiota) to support and strengthen the R&D strategy.
 

A day in the life of an Associate Specialist Metabolomics

 

  • Define, lead and run activities (or project) based on metabolomics. Interpret the data and present the results to Nestlé stakeholders; look at IP opportunities and share the results to international congresses
  • In depth scientific and technical knowledge on NMR with knowledge for spectral interpretation including 2D NMR and heteronuclear NMR spectra or in mass spectrometry
  • Develop and validate fit-for-purpose analytical methods for metabolomics applications
  • Good knowledge into metabolism and in gut microbiota to interpret and translate the data into meaningful business messages
  • Integrate interdisciplinary knowledge into business context  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a good track record of collaboration and teamwork."                
  • Develop collaborations with external universities / partners to support business needs and growth "        
  • Recommend, plan and timely deliver results and scientific support for projects related to Metabolomics
  • Respect safety Nestlé rules and applied Quality and SHE requirements in the laboratories
     

What will make you successful

 

  • PhD in Analytical Chemistry
  • 1-3 years of industrial experience with NMR operation and spectral interpretation including 2D NMR and heteronuclear NMR or with experience with mass spectrometry.
  • Experience with Metabolism and gut microbiota highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Bruker NMR spectrometers is also a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of collaboration and teamwork
