Position Summary
As an Associate Paper Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the development, scale-up, and industrialization of novel fiber-based materials for food packaging applications. You will contribute to key projects aimed at delivering high barrier recyclable paper for flexible and rigid food packaging. This includes developing paper structures that meet food safety and shelf life expectations while securing intellectual property through lab validation and industrial-scale trials.
A Day in the Life of an Associate Paper Specialist
- Lead and execute research projects as an associate paper packaging specialist
- Manage the scale-up of novel paper structures
- Support the development of polymer-coated paper structures for feasible applications
- Drive the deployment of evolving paper recyclability protocols within Institute Packaging Sciences
- Develop and maintain expertise, including impactful publications and communications
- Generate intellectual property in the area of fiber-based packaging
What Will Make You Successful
- MsC and/or PhD in paper engineering or a relevant field, ideally in paper packaging for food and beverage applications
- Proven experience in leading research projects and scaling up R&D concepts in fiber-based packaging
- Strong ability to build external partnerships and think strategically
- Passionate about innovation with a strong work ethic and integrity
- Ability to foster a climate for innovation, renovation, and knowledge sharing
- Focused on translating and implementing scientific concepts into business solutions
- Proficiency in English
