Position Summary
We are looking for an Associate Specialist in Colloidal Systems to be responsible for establishing and building competence in colloid science, soft matter and related product developments according to project briefs and stage gates in I2L. You will apply functional knowledge, skills, and experience to support product innovation and renovation teams from inception through industrialization. This includes supporting teams in breakthrough products and ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, NHW and 60/40+ principles, on-time launch, and adherence to cost limits.
A Day in the Life of an Associate Specialist
- Build and document knowledge on latest methods, trends, and developments in colloid science applied to food
- Propose innovative ideas and methods to advance Nestlé Research initiatives
- Integrate interdisciplinary knowledge to interpret and apply research results effectively
- Deliver timely technical and scientific support for small projects and streams
- Contribute actively to business-related project activities with initiative and ownership
- Present findings and methodologies clearly in written and oral formats to stakeholders
- Support expert networks to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across sites
- Develop tools and competencies aligned with quality, safety, and sustainability standards
What Will Make You Successful
- PhD in Food Physics, Soft Matter, Food Engineering, Material Science or related topic
- Expertise in dispersions (emulsions, foams, suspensions), food colloids, rheology, liquid processing & stability
- Basic knowledge of quality, safety, and hygiene requirements
- Initial experience in R&D or factory operations
- Exposure to diverse projects and organizational support activities
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentations
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities with business/technical awareness
- Good command of English (spoken and written); additional languages (French) are an asset
