2-5 years R&D experience in the field of Enzyme Technology or Food Science in the field of protein enzymatic transformations.

Position Summary

 

Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland and employs approximately 800 people. It consists of four major research institutes: Health Sciences, Material Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences and Packaging Sciences. Nestlé Research combines fundamental science at the highest level, high-end analytical platforms leveraged by all research teams, and strong prototyping capabilities to accelerate the translation of science into innovation. Nestlé Research published around 1,000 scientific publications in peer review journals over the last five years, and files about 80 patents every year. As an Enzyme Specialist, you will drive developments, innovation and renovation in Food Science, specifically in the area of Enzyme Technology, with a focus on protein modifications. You will build scientific/technical competencies to deliver innovative and competitive products/processes/systems in the field of activity in response to business and consumer needs.

A day in the life of an Enzyme Specialist

 

  • Build and document knowledge about latest methods, trends and developments in the area of Enzyme Technology, with focus on protein modification.
  • Explore breakthrough processes or technologies that are patentable. 
  • Be a lead scientist for Nestlé Research projects. Present results/methods in written and oral form to interested parties or visitors (scientific and business audience).
  • Translate science into various food prototypes. 
  • Integrate Scientific, Technology, Quality and Safety and Environment knowledge into business, whilst developing related tools and competencies in the domain of activity.
  • Coach and guide technicians, students and apprentices.
What will make you successful

 

  • PhD in Enzyme Technology with focus on protein modification.
  • 2-5 years R&D experience in the field of Enzyme Technology or Food Science in the field of protein enzymatic transformations.
  • Experience in working with key universities, research organizations or industry that are strong in the field of Enzyme Technology & Protein Biochemistry, preferably related to Food.
  • Experience in project & stakeholder management, initiative, proactive with good communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus.
