Position summary
The NHSc Global Data Governance Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all NHSc data follows established data governance practices in partnership with Group and Zone Data Governance Officers. Your role will focus on coverage, quality, consistency, reliability, accessibility, and compliance of data assets to support NHSc use cases, maximize value generation, and drive business growth and innovation. You will establish and maintain a data governance operating model, oversee data providers, data assets, and data products, and drive the transformation of NHSc's data practices through effective communication, leadership, and persuasion skills at all levels.
A day in the life of a NHSc Global Data Governance Lead
- Establish a comprehensive data governance roadmap, aligning across regions and stakeholders to ensure consistency, compliance, and strategic integration with business objectives.
- Implement data governance best practices for data providers, data assets, and data products, collaborating with Nestlé Group and Zones.
- Support business governance processes related to data management and governance.
- Partner with data engineers to ensure compliance and data security guidelines in designed solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, Data, PO, and IT to understand and document governance requirements.
- Provide advice on options, risks, costs, and impact on business processes and priorities.
- Manage the community of data governance experts, disseminating best practices and fostering collaboration.
- Elevate data literacy standards, promoting a culture of continuous improvement in data literacy skills.
What will make you successful
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as computer science or information management.
- 10+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles, establishing frameworks and implementing data quality initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, best practices, and frameworks.
- Proficiency in data analysis and management tools (SQL, data profiling software, data cataloging tools).
- Knowledge of global data protection regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate data governance concepts.
- Strong leadership and project management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a global and cross-functional environment, collaborating with teams across regions and business units.
