Position Summary  

 

As a member of the Nestlé Historical Archives (NHA) team, the Information & Documentation Specialist plays a crucial role in the acquisition, evaluation, classification, description, and preservation of a diverse range of archival documents. This position offers a dynamic and varied set of responsibilities in an exciting company rich in history, ensuring that no two days are the same. You will be part of a small yet experienced and friendly team, collaborating with numerous departments across different markets. This role provides the unique opportunity to engage with a diverse array of individuals, including historians, archivists, enthusiasts, journalists, and legal experts.

 

A Day in the Life of an Information & Documentation Specialist

 

  • Acquire, evaluate, classify, describe, and preserve archival documents to ensure their longevity and accessibility
  • Ensure the accessibility of documents for users, facilitating research and inquiries.
  • Digitize archival documents to ensure preservation
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as managing the supply office
  • Assist other NHA members in welcoming users and providing support for their needs
  • Support other NHA members in research or historical projects
  • Manage the internal library, ensuring it remains organized and user-friendly

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Relevant diploma in documentary information, information sciences, or any equivalent qualification
  • Previous archival experience is an advantage but not mandatory
  • Comfortable with digital tools relevant to archival management
  • Discipline, precision, organizational skills, and respect for the documents under your care 
  • Ability to work discreetly and independently, while also integrating into a team and contributing to its objectives
  • Interest in history and Nestlé’s heritage is essential
  • Proficiency in French and English is required; knowledge of German is a significant plus
