Position Summary

 

Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 1000 people and is comprised of five Nestlé Institutes: Material Sciences; Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences, Packaging Sciences and Institute of Agricultural Sciences. As a Laboratory Engineer you will provide expertise & guidance ensuring compliance to digital systems supporting Nestlé Research laboratory operations processes within the Site Management function such as laboratory assets management, Good Laboratory Practices and Safety.

A Day in the Life of a Laboratory Engineer - New technology specialist

 

  • Explore the usage of technology within the Digital Catalog and new generation technologies available
  • Develop user-friendly PowerApp digital tools
  • Ensure new digital features and functionality are communicated regularly and understood/utilized
  • Coach personnel on digital platforms 
  • Provide on-going support to ensure compliance and continuous improvements of service and digital tools
  • Map instruments online 
  • Monitor instruments usage 
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of data reported in SLIMS databases
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and development of Site Management database

What will make you successful

 

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in engineering 
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a R&D or laboratory environment
  • Demonstrate passion/interest for Power Platforms such as PowerApp, PowerAutomate, PowerFX and digital tools
  • Successfully demonstrated ability to develop digital tools using MS PowerApp and deliver results
  • Digital project management experience in a laboratory environment 
  • Understand management systems (ISO)
  • Demonstrate service oriented & consumer centric mindset
  • Fluency in English mandatory (written and spoken)
