Position Summary

 

Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 800 people and is comprised of four Nestlé Institutes: Material Sciences; Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences and Packaging Sciences. In order to lead our data functional network, we are looking for a Nestlé Research Data Officer.

 

You will be responsible for F.A.I.R. data framework execution for scientific and research-relevant data assets in line with the group data strategy. You will be responsible for the data strategy and data governance at Nestlé Research

 

A day in the life of a Data Officer

 

• Lead a functional network to drive the Nestlé Research data strategy and activities.
• Lead the Nestlé Research data governance to implement sustainable policies and processes for managing the Nestlé Research data life cycle.
• Partner with key internal stakeholders (e.g. Strategic Businesses, Organization's IT leadership, Medical, Finance, Legal) and collaborate with external stakeholders (e.g. vendors, universities) to implement sustainable and impactful solutions.
• Support data analytics and data science activities across Nestlé Research to accelerate research and innovation.
• Contribute to talent development to ensure proper career advancement and succession planning is in place within your network.

What will make you successful

 

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Information System Management, Data Analytics or equivalent.
• >5 years practice in leading data governance and data activities in a complex environment with international internal and external stakeholders.
• Understanding of scientific principles and familiarity with the data complexity inherent to R&D.
• In depth knowledge of legal and regulatory framework and guidelines (e.g. GDPR, HRA).
• Ability to successfully develop and implement organizational changes to adapt to current and future requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent level of English.
