Position Summary


We are looking for a Portfolio Manager to support the Portfolio Group Leader in our Research portfolio management process. In this role you will act as co-pilot to Institute Heads to ensure maximum value creation by driving portfolio alignment with strategic objectives, providing impactful analytical insights and promoting the efficient utilization of resources. 

Your key responsibilities will include coordinating project portfolio planning for your institute and strategic business units, supporting the group leader in preparing strategic recommendations for the NR Leadership Team, aggregating and providing data analytics, monitoring project compliance and promoting the implementation of best practices.

A Day in the Life of a Portfolio Manager

 

  • Analyze and evaluate project portfolio performance at both project and institute levels using key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure timely and high-quality information is available to relevant portfolio management stakeholders (e.g., Strategic Business Units, R&D counterparts)
  • Prepare and deliver insightful presentations to senior stakeholders, with support from group leader
  • Lead portfolio and project governance routines for the institutes to support effective decision-making 
  • Assist in developing new frameworks and guidelines to drive process efficiency and strengthen strategic alignment
  • Monitor and analyze use of R&D resources to contribute to budget building and reporting
  • Support group leader in R&D time management, including providing training to super users
  • Support group leader in ensuring understanding and proper application of Innovation to Launch (I2L) across institutes
  • Develop and deliver trainings to NR project managers
  • Ensure compliance and adherence with relevant standards and guidelines for the I&R process through internal checks and training/coaching 
  • Foster a culture of prioritization, cross-functional collaboration and business impact
     

What will make you successful

 

  • Solid business experience in various roles within I&R / R&D
  • Experience in portfolio management and/or in a strategic copilot role 
  • Strong analytical mindset
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage senior stakeholders and foster positive relationships
  • Assertive demeanor paired with curious mindset
  • Capacity to constructively challenge ideas without formal authority
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of PowerBI
  • Proficiency in English
