Position Summary

 

We are looking for a Senior Sensory Technician / Panel Leader, to assist in sensory testing and product experience. In this role, you will support the Sensory and Product Experience (SPX) team by implementing practical aspects of sensory testing and following Sensory Laboratory Good Practices.

 

Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 1000 people and is comprised of five Nestlé Institutes: Food Sciences, Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences, Packaging Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences. A Day in the Life of a Senior Sensory Technician

 

 

  • Organize / Lead Sensory tasting sessions by preparing and coding samples, and providing them to panelists
  • Create the questionnaire using a sensory software (EyeQuestion)
  • Manage products under test, including procurement, storage, disposal, and compliance document tracking
  • Screen, train, and monitor the performance of internal and external sensory panels under supervision.
  • Maintain records of external panel attendance and administer panel information
  • Support the implementation of good laboratory practices and ensure safe laboratory behavior
  • Keep sensory equipment and facilities clean, organized, and operational, suggesting improvements and ordering necessary materials/supplies
  • Administer products under test and sensory references, including manufacturing and ordering if relevant

 

What will make you successful

 

  • Apprenticeship or equivalent in sensory, chemistry, food technology, or related fields
  • Previous experience as a technician, preferably in a food, flavor, or beverage company, sensory laboratory, or analytical laboratory
  • Proficiency in MS-Office and dedicated technical software
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP)
  • Strong computer literacy, including MS-Office and dedicated sensory software
  • Fluency in French as well as proficiency in English (written and spoken)
