Position Summary

 

We are looking for a Senior Specialist Genomics, you will be responsible for contributing to the maintenance of Genomics at the cutting edge of technology and applications. This will involve staying up to date with the latest advancements in the field and implementing them to ensure that our Genomics efforts remain at the forefront. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives in Genomics. Your role will also involve providing scientific support by conducting experiments and projects, leveraging your expertise in Genomics. By collaborating with the team, you will play a crucial part in achieving our research goals and driving the overall success of the Genomics department.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Specialist Genomics

 

  • Provide expertise, scientific support, and perform genomics experiments using technologies such as Next Generation Sequencing, microarrays, liquid-handling robotics, PCR, and RT PCR. Contribute to and lead reporting efforts
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in genomics, evaluate and implement new protocols and technologies to improve data quality and workflow. Develop and enhance methods, identifying gaps and proposing solutions
  • Act as an interface between data production and data analysis, improving efficiency for data interpretation and technology evaluation. Identify opportunities for improvements, such as data quality control, and utilize basic bioinformatics knowledge
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to NR, other R&D centers, and NQAC/operations to define experimental strategies
  • Drive genomics innovation projects, concepts, and ideas that align with Nestle Research's mission

 

What will make you successful

 

  • PhD in molecular biology/genomics and biology
  • Solid experience and demonstrated proficiency in Genomics instrumentation, methods and applications.
  • Supervision of genomics project execution.
  • Understanding of genomics data and mastery of basics of data analysis.
  • Should possess polyvalent skills, demonstrating versatility and adaptability across various tasks and functions
  • Autonomous work style.
  • Initiative-driven approach.
  • Strong team spirit and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Fluency in English. Any other language is an asset.
