Position Summary


We are looking for a Senior Specialist in Nutrition & Muscle Physiology, to join a diverse team of researchers developing nutritional solutions for physical health across the lifespan. You will initiate and lead clinical scientific research activities on nutrition for early life muscle growth and physical health in adults to maintain vitality and prevent age-related decline. You will contribute to translation of scientific discoveries into physical growth and development benefits across businesses, supporting our research & innovation pipeline.

 

Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 1000 people and is comprised of five Nestlé Institutes: Food Sciences, Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences, Packaging Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences. A Day in the Life of a Senior Specialist in Nutrition & Muscle Physiology

 

  • Develop concepts and drive internal projects on nutrition for muscle health in humans and pets.
  • Substantiate new nutritional solutions by designing the clinical strategy and executing clinical proof of concept studies as well as implementing news tools for clinical evaluation. 
  • Provide expert opinion on the interplay between nutrition and muscle physiology, integrating metabolic health.
  • Coach junior scientists and collaborate cross-functionally with experts and business partners.
  • Influence stakeholders to support business translation of scientific discoveries across Nestlé portfolio.
  • Build and maintain an external network with academia and start-ups/CROs to build competitive research projects.
  • Communicate scientific discoveries to internal stakeholders and in the scientific community, at international conferences and through peer-reviewed high impact publications.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • MsC and/Or PhD in Nutrition or related Sciences 
  • Track-record of scientific productivity in nutrition and muscle physiology.
  • Experience in clinical trial design, execution and interpretation.
  • Previous experience in industry or collaboration with start-ups/industry.
  • Proven leadership skills, team spirit and outstanding communication skills.
  • A strong translational mindset with the capacity to influence and communicate to non-expert audiencesand business partners.
  • Fluency in English.
