Position Summary  

 

We are looking for a Senior Specialist in Nutrition Epidemiology responsible for guiding the strategy, performing research and translating scientific findings into business applications. This role will drive innovation and improvements to the product portfolio, contribute to the Institute’s research strategy, and increase scientific leadership in the field of nutrition.

 

Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 1000 people, and is comprised of five Nestlé Institutes: Health Sciences, Food Sciences; Food Safety & Analytical Sciences, Packaging Sciences and Agriculture Sciences. A Day in the Life of a Senior Specialist in Nutritional Epidemiology

 

  • Lead research projects related to nutritional epidemiology, dietary assessment, and nutrient profiling 
  • Develop methodologies to assess the role of product categories in diets across life stages using data from large-scale nutrition and health surveys
  • Collaborate closely with scientists from other departments on projects that investigate nutrition-related health benefits for specific consumer populations
  • Translate scientific findings into consumer-appealing concepts to drive impactful innovation across product categories in the context of a balanced diet
  • Lead scientific outputs including publications, conference presentations, and patents
  • Coach and collaborate with team members in areas such as dietary assessment, epidemiology methods, diet modelling and personalised nutrition

 

What will make you successful

 

  • PhD in Nutrition Science or related research, with wide range experience in research
  • Extensive experience in applying epidemiology and biostatistics in research, including relevant publications
  • Strong expertise in dietary assessment and analysis to evaluate nutrient intakes, food groups and eating patterns
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, bring creativity and new ideas and drive consumer products, build trusted relationships with stakeholders in product development and different businesses
  • Experience leading projects in a matrix organization and collaborating internally and externally with diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills in English for scientific and non-scientific audiences
