Position Summary
We are looking for a Specialist Microbiology Risk Assessor, to support the microbiologically safe design of products and processes through risk assessment. You will perform microbiological food safety evaluations in response to technical assistance requests from R&D and operations.
Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 1000 people and is comprised of five Nestlé Institutes: Food Sciences, Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences, Packaging Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences. A Day in the Life of a Specialist Microbiology Risk Assessor
- Work with a team of microbiologists to perform and communicate microbiological risk assessment
- Support product safety by design with the application of predictive modeling
- Design challenge test studies and process validations
- Write scientific publications
- Coordinate with 3rd party microbiology laboratories
- Generate microbiological data
What will make you successful
- PhD degree in Food Science/Microbiology/Biology
- Good understanding of predictive modeling
- Experience in quantitative microbial risk assessment
- Experience in working in Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) laboratories, handling of pathogenic microorganisms and laboratory equipment.
- Evidence of communication- both verbal and in writing, of complex scientific information to specialist and non-specialists audiences
- Team player with a can-do attitude
- High level of motivation and adaptability
- Able to speak English fluently
