Position Summary

 

We are looking for a Specialist in Organoid Technologies to design, develop, and lead scientific activities using cell-based organotypic technologies to meet business and consumer needs. You will provide strong scientific and technical guidance to team members, supporting projects to deliver innovative and competitive products, processes, and systems. Your excellent communication skills will allow you to present to different audiences and influence stakeholders. Building a strong internal and external network will be crucial to your success.

 

Nestlé Research is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, employs approximately 1000 people and is comprised of five Nestlé Institutes: Food Sciences, Health Sciences, Food Safety & Analytical Sciences, Packaging Sciences, and Agricultural Sciences. A Day in the Life of a Specialist in Organoid Technologies

 

  • Design, support, and lead technology developments in the discovery and assessment of nutritional solutions using 3D systems and organoids
  • Utilize advanced cellular models to improve the translation of nutritional solutions for human and pet physiology and clinical trial readouts
  • Provide scientific expertise across Nestle Research, driving the use of advanced cellular models for various applications beyond Nutrition for Health
  • Mentor and guide experimental scientists, generating robust and reliable experimental results for business impact
  • Communicate scientific discoveries internally and within the scientific community through conferences and publications
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest methods, trends, and developments in the field
  • Build and maintain a strong internal network and expand external connections with academia and start-ups/CROs

 

What will make you successful

 

  • PhD and a solid post-PhD experience
  • Proven track record of scientific productivity in implementing organoid and advanced cellular models
  • Experience using advanced cellular models to improve the translation of nutritional solutions or other therapeutic interventions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Passion for translational science and the ability to communicate research impact to non-expert audiences
  • Previous industry experience or collaboration with start-ups/industry is a plus
  • Autonomous, creative, open, and flexible
  • Highly organized and coordinated
  • Strong problem-solving and solution-finding skills
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
