As a Statistics and Data Science Specialist at Nestlé Research, your mission is to apply advanced statistics and data science to accelerate scientific discovery and innovation across our product portfolio. You’ll make a difference by collaborating closely with food scientists, product developers, process engineers, sensory teams, and project teams. How you’ll make an impact as a Statistics and Data Science Specialist
- Designing robust lab and pilot experiments that generate reliable evidence and accelerate scientific progress.
- Analysing complex experimental data to uncover actionable insights, quantify uncertainty, and strengthen decision-making.
- Collaborating across scientific and technical teams to refine hypotheses and integrate data-driven thinking into innovation projects.
- Translating statistical outputs into clear recommendations that guide formulation, process, and product development choices.
- Building visualisations and models that make complex findings accessible to diverse stakeholders and project teams.
- Driving innovation by applying advanced analytics to support better products, smarter decisions, and faster learning cycles.
What will make you successful
- Bringing a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Data Science.
- Applying hands-on experience in mathematics-based data collection methodologies to generate robust experimental data.
- Using hands-on expertise in statistical inference, statistical modelling techniques, optimization algorithms, and machine learning techniques to solve scientific challenges.
- Bringing proficiency in Python programming, with knowledge of R as a plus, and proven experience in data-driven modelling for product design, particularly in food or related consumer products, as a plus.
- Communicating fluently in English.
