What to Expect:
We are looking for an Account Manager for a 14-month contract based out of the Greater Montreal Area and reporting into the National Sales Manager. This position is focused on the Specialty Channel and involved leading a large portfolio of products, including Pro Plan, Merrick, Supplements, Fancy Feast, Friskies, and more. You will also be responsible and accountable for sales and management of key strategic regional customer and group of customers in excess of $18 Million and the associated Customer Contribution to Nestle Purina. In addition, you will be responsible for the Account “go to market” strategic plan, based on the Integrated Commercial Plan with PSCC and Trade Marketing, and Retail.
A Day in the Life of an Account Manager:
• Own the business planning process with the customer. Apply the Nestle Purina PetCare Trade Management Tool to build efficient customer plans. Develop and implement trade promotion strategies and tactical plans with the customer. Proactively monitor and update the customer's overall business plan, including leading trade budgets, spending, and volume to achieve all sales objectives versus plan.
• Apply post event analysis to assess promotional volume, consumption, profit, and spending results compared to the plan and use the insights to improve future promotional opportunities. Monitor and manage deduction balances and conduct post audits.
• Leverage MDO (CD/SI/SM) resources to develop and implement category and consumer centric strategies through ICBP.
• Develop timely and accurate monthly forecasts in order to project annual sales volume along with improving supply chain efficiencies by tracking shipments, consumption, and inventory changes.
• Conduct category business reviews to discuss the state of the business, consumer trends, key business drivers, and incremental opportunities. Apply sound category management practices to proactively connect consumer and shopper insights/trends and opportunities.
• Identify profitable opportunities to grow incremental volume through new item listings, SKU optimization and distribution.
Role Requirements:
• 3-5 years of progressive sales experience managing a territory and/or Trade Marketing
• 1-2 years of account management
• Bilingualism in English and French is required for this position. The role involves frequent and complex collaboration with stakeholders across the Canadian market. These interactions necessitate a high level of proficiency in English to effectively perform the tasks associated with the job.
Preferred Skills
• Relevant experience in the packaged goods industry
• Advance MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience working with other sales tracking software program
