Position Summary:

 

The Chemist plays a key role in ensuring product quality and compliance by performing routine and complex testing within the Quality Control laboratory. Working under general supervision, this role applies expertise in core laboratory techniques, supports investigations and problem-solving efforts, and helps maintain reliable, accurate testing that protects product integrity and supports business continuity.

 

This is a fully onsite role located at our Leonia, NJ manufacturing site.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Perform routine and complex testing of samples in accordance with established procedures, including support for special projects and laboratory investigations as needed
  • Independently operate laboratory instruments and perform essential laboratory techniques, including preparation and standardization of solutions, titrations, and TLC; troubleshoot and resolve issues with at least two analytical instruments
  • Accurately document data, perform calculations, evaluate and report results, and conduct peer review of laboratory data to ensure accuracy, data integrity, and system effectiveness; communicate progress and issues to management
  • Comply with all Data Integrity requirements, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), GMPs, testing procedures, safety, and health regulations
  • Prioritize workload effectively to meet scheduled timelines while managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Proactively communicate equipment, material, and supply needs to supervisors to prevent testing delays
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection‑ready laboratory environment, demonstrating strong housekeeping practices
  • Safely handle hazardous materials and waste using approved procedures; selected qualified associates may support hazardous waste management activities as assigned by Quality or Quality Management
  • Conduct and support root cause analyses related to testing, methods, or instrument issues; recommend and review procedural improvements with management to support continuous improvement
  • Train and mentor other analysts on testing procedures and laboratory best practices
  • Coordinate and support laboratory projects under management guidance, including periodically performing duties of higher‑level roles for training and development purposes

 

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in an analytical laboratory; pharmaceutical or nutraceutical experience preferred
  • Hands-on experience with at least two analytical techniques (e.g., HPLC, UPLC, LC‑MS, GC); Empower software experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with the ability to identify and communicate trends
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications

  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under pressure

The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000- $90,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
