POSITION SUMMARY:

Position is responsible for:

1) Directing, motivating/coaching, and managing the NHSc TAG personnel in Tablet and Capsule 2) supporting Nestle Health Science I&R initiatives at the Leonia, NJ factory) commercialization of projects in collaboration with internal and external functional groups such as Marketing, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, QA/QC, Engineering, Manufacturing and Co-Manufacturing, R&D, TCU, Procurement, Supply Chain and others as appropriate. ii)  active identification and support of cost reduction and operational improvement opportunities including AI, CONQ, FTQ/FTR  3) serving as the technical liaison between the factory, NHSc Commercial Teams, TCU, R&D, and external resources to establish and maintain strong working relationships ensuring an effective flow of information.

 

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES

 

 

  • Work with other departments, i.e. CTAG, Marketing, NPTC/R&D and Operations, to identify short term and long term project priorities for industrialization of product innovation and renovation for 100% FTR..

 

  • Administer and coordinate TAG activities related to the Leonia factory including project management, factory trials, implementation/qualification of new and modified formulations, processes, procedures, products and packaging introductions.  Coordinate technical training as required.

 

  • Assure manufacturing processes and finished product quality complies with applicable regulatory and NHS quality standards.  Assist Production/Engineering/Quality Departments to resolve non-maintenance related quality issues and/or product losses.  Support investigations, recommend and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence when possible.

 

  • Provide leadership for the Site TAG personnel to ensure on time and on budget delivery of projects.  Mentor team members and provide opportunities for professional development and personal growth.

 

  • Administer preparation of documentation relating to activities within the TAG Team including I2L inputs, MDs, MOCs, SOP’s, QMS, HACCP, block diagrams, trial protocols, Validation 3s, FOC/SOC release packages and CAPAs.    Establish and maintain a strong working relationship and provide for the effective flow of information between plant and external resources.

NHSc Leonia located CTAG Team Members.  Provides advisement to engineers, production supervisors, operators, TCU/R&D

 

Requirements and minimum education Level:

BS Degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.  MS Degree preferred but not required.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-10 years manufacturing experience in product development of Blending, Encapsulation and Tablets
  • 1-5 years management experience

 

Skills:

  • Demonstrate strong administrative, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Takes initiative, makes effective use of everyone’s time, and strives to achieve timely solutions.
  • A “self starter” requiring minimal direct supervision.
  • Team player
  • Understands principles of GMPs, QMS, HACCP, and SOP’s.
  • Knowledge of EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT, and understanding of MS PROJECT preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable Food, Quality and Safety Laws and Regulations (CFR Title 21, CGMP’s, OSHA).
  • Skilled in the principles of food science & technology, aseptic & terminal thermal processing, canning, spray drying, packaging.
