Position Summary

The Brand Design Lead supports Global Brand(s) in the development, rollout and adaptation of Brand Identity and Design fundamentals to drive design excellence and consistency globally. Partnering with the assigned SBU and their Global Strategic Design Agency, the Brand Design Lead brings Zone/Market brand understanding to guide finalization of Brand Identity and Packaging Design System, and ensures Zones and Markets embrace and adapt global standards and develop Brand Identity and Packaging that reflect the SBU/GMB strategy.
The key purpose is to act as design expert to advise SBU, Zone and Market stakeholders accelerate design excellence across key identity and packaging touchpoints with greater efficacy and resulting improved effectiveness.
The Brand Design Lead will also support the operationalization of Brand Design as governed by the Nestlé Design Excellence Standard, partnering with preferred Agencies, leveraging Nestlé Global Solutions (e.g., Content Hub, Brand Portal guidelines, and Design to Delivery/D2D), and where relevant, identifying appropriate IBS Design Services. He/She must be able to deal with complex organizational model, with internal stakeholders (Global Design Team, SBU, Zone, IBS, IT and Markets) as well as external partners (Strategic Design Agencies, Adaptive Agencies, Artwork & Prepress Agencies) and must be able to drive change management and be a passionate advocate for driving brand design excellence and consistency.

A day in the life of...
• Partners with assigned SBU to support the development and finalization of BBNW fundamentals related to Design (Five Senses, Brand Properties, Brand Identity, Portfolio Architecture, Packaging Design System), and associated guidelines and master files, with aim to ensure the SBU design deliverables reflect the SBU strategy and provide relevant and actionable guidance and assets for Zone/Market implementation.
• Supports SBU to guide Zone and Market Design or Marketing Teams in implementing and rolling out Brand Identity and Packaging Designs for assigned Global Brand(s), including guiding teams on best practice and applying Nestlé ways of working to bring brand design understanding and capability building when necessary. Advocates the application of the Nestlé Design Excellence Standard, the implementation of the Global Design Sourcing strategy, and usage of the IBS Design Services, where applicable.
• Supports Zone/Market strategic and adaptive design development by providing guidance related to applying Global SBU standards, and liaising with SBU and/or assigned Agencies as required to achieve a timely and high level of quality in execution.
• Supports Zones/Markets with the design adaptation and localization process with Global Agencies and/or IMS Design Services, and defines Continuous Improvement Plan with SBU.
• When relevant, oversees the development or update to Brand Communication Standard (BCS) and/or digital guidelines in Brand Portal performed by IMS Design Services designers or Agency Teams. Lends knowledge of assigned Brand to craft or improve written guidance and art direct the inclusion of relevant explanatory visual exhibits in the standard or guidelines.
• Acts as brand design champion for assigned Brand(s), advocating brand identity and design understanding through coaching, training, and ad hoc advice to Content Studios and other entities applying brand guidance to print or digital touchpoints beyond packaging
• Creates and shares regular performance reports/best practices that offer insights & recommendations for continuous improvement or future design performance improvements to SBU, Zone, and Market Stakeholders.
• Supports the SBU, Zone and Market teams working on assigned Global Brand(s) with design capability building through training sessions and webinars in coordination with the Global Design team and the Marketing Capability Building Team.
• In collaboration with SBU, establishes and rolls out a governance model for the assigned Global Brand(s), including processes and ways of working with the aim of deploying the design strategy effectively and efficiently in a complex organization, while applying all relevant Global Standards, tools, and ways of working. Responsible of ensuring the relevant IBS services and IT solutions are leveraged to accelerate design excellence and digital transformation.
• Supports the SBU and Nestrade Procurement to ensure D2D AgencyMania is embedded in ways of working, and responsible with Procurement to deliver quarterly spend analysis reports to SBU Stakeholders and Global Design with aim to identify design investment opportunities to enhance the value of design investment.

What will make you successful
• 6+ years in brand design collaborating with large FMCG global brands to develop and implement design changes in the area of Brand Identity and Packaging Design
• Strong experience in guiding and project managing Brand Identity and Packaging Design development
• Experience in ensuring holistic application of brand standards across a spectrum of design touchpoints
• Ideally with experience having successfully managed and led launch / roll out of Brand Identity and Packaging Design projects
• At minimum Bachelor’s degree preferred in Design, Communications, Brand Strategy or related field
• Excellent written and spoken English skills, with demonstrated experience writing brand guidance
• Adept at managing change and coaching change in others
• Clear communication skills with excellent response times
• Team and results-oriented attitude where work is approached with empathy, enthusiasm, ownership, responsibility, adaptability, balance and resilience
