POSITION SUMMARY:
The Buyer role plays a critical role in purchases for all indirect services and materials (S&IM) to include maintenance spare parts (MRO) and capital purchases. The Buyer position is critical to ensure cost management and delivery of goods/services needed for the factory. In addition to purchasing, this role also primarily ensures purchasing policy compliance, identification/implementation of cost savings initiatives, and monitoring/maintaining supplier relationships.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify cost savings opportunities via daily review of purchase requisitions as well as more strategic cost savings project initiatives.
• Create Purchase Orders for S&IM, maintenance spare parts, and capital in a backup capacity.
• Ensure factory is compliant with all Nestle Purchasing Policies and perform periodic audits of processes (via Health Checks and Self-Assessments).
• Manage contracts/agreements for factory for localized S&IM purchases.
• Maintain good working relationships with suppliers.
• Liaison with Corporate Purchasing supporting National initiatives and Vendor Performance.
• Support capability building/guidance for PO Creation and Goods Receipt activities to be performed in timely and accurate manner to ensure accurate liability and expense reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Preferred in business area such as Finance or other analytical field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 2 years finance, manufacturing, purchasing, or supply chain experience required.
SKILLS:
- Basic accounting
- Negotiation skills
- Strong Proactive Cooperation skills
- High performance team player
- Results Oriented
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and computer skills (SAP & Excel)
- Prior purchasing and/or technical parts experience is a plus
