What to Expect:

 

As a Materials Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials to support production requirements, managing inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, and monitoring supply risks. You will work closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to execute planning activities, maintain accurate planning data, and proactively resolve issues that may impact material availability and production schedules.

A day in the life:

 

  • Analyze and manage materials requirements to support production schedules and business demands.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material availability while balancing supply and demand requirements.
  • Create, maintain, and manage purchase orders to ensure timely replenishment of materials.
  • Liaise with suppliers and procurement teams to ensure on-time delivery of raw and packaging materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address delivery or supply issues that may impact production.
  • Identify potential shortages, delays, or risks to supply and proactively escalate concerns to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Factory Logistics, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth execution of production plans.
  • Maintain planning parameters and master data within SAP and associated planning systems.
  • Support continuous improvement activities focused on inventory management, planning accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Execute daily and weekly planning activities while ensuring adherence to agreed planning processes and service level targets.
  • Ensure purchase order accuracy, material availability, and timely communication of potential risks that may impact production schedules.

 

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or other related disciplines.
  • 0-5 years of experience in Material Planning, Supply Planning, Production Planning, Manufacturing Operations, Logistics, Procurement, or related Supply Chain functions.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is advantageous:
      • Factory Logistics
      • Materials Handling
      • Detailed Production Scheduling
      • Supply Chain Operations
      • 0-5 years in MRP planning role

 

Preferred Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and escalate issues early.
  • Strong learning agility and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of LEAN, Just-in-Time (JIT), or continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing, logistics, planning, or supply chain environments is considered an asset.

Compensation Range: CAD 65,000 – 70,000 + bonus eligibility
